This summer, I had a fantastic experience working at VEST as a React Native mobile developer. VEST is a mental health and resiliency training company and a subsidiary of Lecticon, where I had worked previously. My time at VEST was incredibly rewarding. I developed a new feature that allows users to track various areas of their lives, driving daily engagement. Additionally, I integrated an AI assistant into the app using OpenAI's APIs.
I returned to the MTC as a part-time Junior Developer on a consulting team specializing in bringing desired applications to life through Microsoft's Power Apps and Power Automate. It was an exciting experience, spending my days learning new technology while assisting people along the way. Microsoft's Power Platform tools truly are amazing, and working with them made the process even more rewarding.
My first step into the real world felt like a true calling when I started my role as an Implementation Consultant at FAST. This position brought all my passions together into one job, allowing me to leverage the hard skills I gained from my degree, apply my instructing abilities, and fulfill my desire to work directly with clients. Throughout the summer, I had the opportunity to put my C# and SQL skills to good use by developing business objects that automated the process of sending letters to individuals meeting specific criteria outlined in my SQL queries. One highlight of my summer was working on the FAQ page for Montana UI.
Lecticon is a prominent learning and development company that delivers essential training to numerous businesses. During my tenure, I was part of the On Q Safety team, which specialized in offering online driver safety training for first responders. My main responsibility as a salesman and account manager presented a unique set of challenges. Nevertheless, this role deepened my passion for direct client interaction and engagement.
After dedicating two years to volunteer missionary work for my church, I felt a strong desire to return to teaching, but with a focus on language instruction. During my missionary service, I acquired proficiency in the Marshallese language, and my role at the MTC provided an opportunity to both maintain my Marshallese language skills and share my knowledge with others. Teaching a language proved to be a challenging endeavor, unlike anything I had taught before, yet the difficulty of it made the experience all the more rewarding. After approximately five months, I made the decision to transition to a new role that better aligned with my long-term career aspirations.
I embarked on my piano journey at the age of 10 and remained under the tutelage of the same piano teacher for a remarkable 8 years. Eventually, I had the privilege of joining her brand new studio as a part-time instructor. Teaching young aspiring pianists allowed me to refine my teaching approach, tailoring it to accommodate each student's unique learning style and pace. This experience was invaluable in my development as a teacher.
I had the pleasure of teaching over 20 kids, ranging in age from 2 to 14, how to swim. This job was incredibly enjoyable and it was where my passion for instructing truly blossomed. Swimming has always held a special place in my heart, and I firmly believe that if you're passionate about something, you shouldn't keep it to yourself; instead, share that passion with others.

Outside of my commitments to school and work, my top priority is my family. Spending quality time with my wife, Elyse, brings me immense joy. Together, we share several hobbies, including skiing, hiking, golfing, and camping.
When I'm not enjoying the outdoors, I have a strong passion for watching movies and television shows. Additionally, I take on the role of the cook in my household. Combining these interests, I've embarked on a project to create a virtual pantry. This pantry allows me to conveniently manage all my ingredients and, using an API, suggests recipes based on what's available in my inventory.
